Zero Dark Thirty kohta ei arva midagi. Hurt Locker ei erutanud mu meeli ega avardanud mu maailma ega filmimaitset. Hea film, muud midagi, aga OSCAR? Hell no.

Mõne jaoks on rohkem kui 3 aastat pikk aeg. Arvustus aegub, inimese arvamus areneb edasi (võib-olla mitte sinu jaoks siis ) ja paljud filmi pole tagasivaates enam nii head.

Filmimaitse on palju muutunud ja näiteks 8/10 on hinne, mille oleksin võinud anda ka The Five-Year Engagement`ile, aga JÄLLEGI see ei erutanud mu meeli, avardanud filmimaitset ega muutnud mu maailma, vaid oli lihtsalt ootamatult hea käega tehtud. Sama ka Hurt Lockeriga.

Ainuke koht, kus vanas arvustuses kiidan üleliiast.

Mitte üks parimaid tänapäeva sõdu käsitlevaid filme, aga sinna poole see tüürib.

Väga raske on sinust praegu aru saada. Algul väidad, et arvustus on vananenud ja arvamus muutunud, siis aga hakkad seda sama arvustust kaitsma, väites et seal on ainult üks lause liialt kiitev.

Aga ilmselt on asi lihtsalt minus ja ma ei saa aru, sest isiklikult hindan filme teistest aspektidest lähtuvalt kui meelte erutamine ja maailma muutmine.

Tulles tagasi Oscarite juurde, siis igal aastal on peaaegu igas kategoorias mõni film, mis minu arvates võitu rohkem vääriks kui tegelik laureaat. Olen lihtsalt õppinud aktsepteerima seda, et minu lemmikud ei võida peaaegu kunagi ja pigem lihtsalt vastandun halbadele filmidele, kui hoian pöialt enda lemmikule. Täpselt nii oli ka 2010. aastal, pigem The Hurt Locker kui Avatar.

9 Foreign Language Films Vie For Oscar®

BEVERLY HILLS, CA – Nine films will advance to the next round of voting in the Foreign Language Film category for the 85th Academy Awards®. Seventy-one films had originally qualified in the category.

The films, listed in alphabetical order by country, are:

Austria, "Amour," Michael Haneke, director;
Canada, "War Witch," Kim Nguyen, director;
Chile, "No," Pablo Larraín, director;
Denmark, "A Royal Affair," Nikolaj Arcel, director;
France, "The Intouchables," Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano, directors;
Iceland, "The Deep," Baltasar Kormákur, director;
Norway, "Kon-Tiki," Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg, directors;
Romania, "Beyond the Hills," Cristian Mungiu, director;
Switzerland, "Sister," Ursula Meier, director.

Foreign Language Film nominations for 2012 are again being determined in two phases.

The Phase I committee, consisting of several hundred Los Angeles-based members, screened the 71 eligible films between mid-October and December 17. The group's top six choices, augmented by three additional selections voted by the Academy's Foreign Language Film Award Executive Committee, constitute the shortlist.

The shortlist will be winnowed down to the five nominees by specially invited committees in New York and Los Angeles. They will spend Friday, January 4, through Sunday, January 6, viewing three films each day and then casting their ballots.

The 85th Academy Awards nominations will be announced live on Thursday, January 10, 2013, at 5:30 a.m. PT in the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater.

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2012 will be presented on Sunday, February 24, 2013, at the Dolby Theatre™ at Hollywood & Highland Center®, and televised live on the ABC Television Network. The Oscar presentation also will be televised live in more than 225 countries worldwide.

Oscar® Host Seth MacFarlane Joins Emma Stone To Announce Oscar Nominations

BEVERLY HILLS, CA – Nominations for the 85th Academy Awards® will be announced by the show's host, Seth MacFarlane, and actress Emma Stone on Thursday, January 10. This will be the first time since 1972 that an Oscar show host has participated in the nominations announcement.

MacFarlane and Stone will unveil the nominations at a 5:30 a.m. PT news conference at the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, where hundreds of media representatives from around the world will be gathered.

Since the first nominations announcement in 1964, the Academy president has been joined by one or more co-announcers at the event. This year the Academy will break with tradition when MacFarlane, who was named Oscar show host in October, joins Stone on Oscar nominations morning. Charlton Heston (1972) was the only other show host to participate in the nominations announcement.

Stone starred in the 2011 Best Picture nominee "The Help" and the summer release "The Amazing Spider-Man." Her other film credits include "Superbad," "Zombieland," "Easy A" and "Crazy, Stupid, Love." Stone will be seen in "Gangster Squad" later this month and in "The Croods," due out in March.

Nominations information for all categories will be distributed to news media in attendance and via the Internet on the official Academy Awards website, http://www.oscar.com.

Nommid olemas nüüd siis.

Väga suuri üllatusi ei olnud. See et Wallis, Zeitlin ja Beasts of Southern Wild nii palju armastust sai oli isegi väga positiivne üllatus.

Kahju, et Looper ja Nolan nendes kategooriates üldse ei figureeri.

Ahjaa, vinge, et The Master ikka Oscarite onudel ja tädidel meeles oli.

Võtsin lähemalt tutvumiseks ette kõige lihtsama ja vähem aega nõudva kategooria: parim filmilaul.
Adele ja "Skyfall" oli igati ootuspärane ning loodetavasti ka võidab. Meeldiv üllatus oli Norah Jones'i esitatud "Everybody Needs a Best Friend" Tedist. Meeldis mulle juba filmi vaatamise ajal, ent ma ei osanud arvatagi, et see oli spetsiaalselt selle filmi jaoks kirjutatud. Vähemalt midagigi selle filmi juures oli hea ja ma pole sugugi pahane, et MacFarlane nüüd Oscarile nomineeritud inimeste seas on. Nende kahe lauluga minu head sõnad lõppevad. "Before My Time" -- Scarlett Johanssoni tundetud soigumist igava klaveri ja viiuli taustal oli raske lõpuni kuulata. "Pi's Lullaby" -- jällegi üsna tundetu soigumine minule arusaamatus keeles, õnneks oli muusikaline taust natukene huvitavam. "Suddenly" -- kui enne oli veel väike lootus, et ma lähen Hüljatut kinno vaatama, siis pärast selle laulu kuulamist on see täielikult välistatud.

Nii et põhimõtteliselt on ainult kaks tõsist kandidaati sellele auhinnale ja olekski võidud piirduda vaid kahe nominendiga nagu eelmisel aastal. Kui hoopis mõni neist kolmest viletsast võidab, siis oleks päris putsis...

Olen siiani näinud ainult Skyfalli, piletid on juba olemas Lincolnile ja Vabastatud Djangole, aga selle kategooria võitja pole ükski neist kolmest, ega ka mitte Anna Karenina. Akadeemiale meeldivad 3D filmid ja selle Oscari võidab Pii elu, mis on selles osas ka väga palju kiita saanud. Mõne teise nominendi võit oleks minu jaoks täielik üllatus.
